Successful day at Border Union Show

We enjoyed a busy and successful day at Border Union on Saturday picking up two champions and two reserve champions. Halbeath Kim K416 stood female champion and reserve overall under judge John Fleming from the Stairhaven herd. This 2010-born Idvies Elmonarch daughter is out of the Halbeath Knight C069 daughter Halbeath Kim F289 and joined the herd last October when she was purchased at the Halbeath dispersal. She was shown with her March born heifer calf at foot by Duncanziemere Edwin J311.

Standing reserve female champion to Kim was Rulesmains Barbara M259 having won the two year old heifer class. She is a Hoff Trail Boss daughter out of the Chalco Juror sired Argwen Barbara. She was breed champion and reserve native champion at Northumberland Show in May and second at Agri-Expo last October.

Rulesmains Keystone N355 also took reserve spot in the male championship. Born January 2013 he is by Rawburn Elmer J921 and out of Belhaven Keystone Kinannie H099, a KMK Alliance daughter. He has a calving ease direct of +2.3, +5.0 for eye muscle depth, +14 for milk with a terminal index of +38 and a self replacing index of +51.

While Rulesmains Miss Essence N378 stood second, she is a March 2013-born Rawburn Effortless H804 daughter out of the DMM Posi-Traction sired Weeton Miss Essence J146. She carries a milk figure of +17.
